Hello Fiona. I am also on Mirt, have been for for 6 weeks for severe anxiety. I am on 45mg for the last 7 days and my symptoms are slightly worse than before. But you have to stick with it and hopefully things will get better. What strength are you on and what do you feel like.

I was on Mirtazapine 15mg for 9 years. I cut down to 7.5mg. Before coming off.  The first 2 days were ok. Then all hell broke losse.

On the loo all day and night. Shakes self doubt sweating feeling sick, did not know what was going on.

Anxiety kick In and my eyes  were like bulging . I can not think clear. Obsessions kick in am I dying,  worry hit me.

I am now 10 days off. Yes it mite not get any better for months. Yes I mite not sleep nor eat as much. Well in my book it all will be good.

Yes a certain amount of anxiety will come back. But it will serve me well. As I know now by experance,

anxiety can be good  tool to have. When used right.

As it make you face up to what you need  do in life.

It took me 20 years of my GP trying to find an anti depressant that agrees with me. Now I know why, my body didn’t need chemicals all it need was to be listen to.

Have faith and let time pass.

I have been on 15mg for a couple of months and yesterday at work I felt that all my emotions and feelings had gone. Like I was just going through the motions. So I decided to stop, no cutting down, so I'm hoping for the best outcome, the thing I need is sleep which is one of the main reasons I started them and anxiety, these tablets work but I don't like the person I've become.

Thank you, only been two days and already I feel the fog lifting, I'm wanting to do things again.

Moved house few weeks ago and I'm tackling the boxes!!

Hope it lasts, not going back to Mirtazapine, I know that.

I think talking about your feelings and being true to yourself, even liking yourself is the way forward.

But if you need medication even for a short while that's ok
