I am about to be 5 months post op partial hip replacement...Just last week the swelling on surgery leg foot has gone down....but I still feel tightness on foot when I flex it up n down...It feels light I have a tight band around it....Has anyone else experienced this?

In my case, blood accumulated down there and took a while to get reabsorbed. Its got to go somewhere I suppose.

Hi,
I have, I still experience swelling if I stand or sit too long and my last revision was 4 mos just about. My doctor has told me to elevate my leg so that it's higher than my heart. So I do that especially when I go to bed and it works great. They don't suggest using compression socks. If you haven't had physical therapy, that really helps restore circulation. And also any exercise you can tolerate. The key is circulation of the blood so it doesn't deposit down there and not be able to get back to the heart.
