Symptoms are back! So I'm back

Hello all
I joined this forum in 2016 and had a terrible time with awful symptoms. I had a great year last year, apart from a few niggling symptoms I felt quite normal, but since the start of this year everything, and I mean everything I had in the first year of this is back. Dizzy spells palpitations dryness headaches and the dreaded anxiety, caused of course by all these dreadful symptoms. I recognise some of you from the early days, just wondering how you are all doing. I didnt take HRT but seriously considering it now. any replies welcome.

Hi there Metamorphed - are you post menopausal? May I ask you how old you are? My reasoning is, I am 61 yrs old, 5 or 6 years post & this last year has been horrible for me..everyday something new - I have fought off taking anything, but this quality of life is not very fun - I don’t even know if I am too old to go on HRT - my GP just chuckles at me, doesn’t think these issues are hormone related at all - nobody gets it!

Oh thanks Mars for that input...yes, I think it may be time...I can’t cope with all these symptoms, I have become a shell of myself & have aged considerably - thank you! Appreciate your response -

Hi debra i'm 50. I am not post menopausal but i wont be waiting any more to start hrt I really dont believe now that it gets better. I'm back to square 1 and I really look after myself so much so that I have given up a lot of stuff I enjoyed just to feel at my best. Well it hasnt made a difference I feel awful. So you saying that you are 6 years post and are having symptoms I have endured peri and now entering menopause and its been too long now no end in sight..

Hi Metamorphed - When I was in peri my symptoms were much different than they are now. I was plagued with insomnia, hot flashes, weight gain, flooding to the point of not being able to leave the house. After my period stopped, it also began a time of intense stress for me of taking care of my parents, getting kids off to school etc. I think my body & adrenals were on overdrive & I also developed high blood pressure during this 5 year period. My parents have passed, kids are launched and in the last year I have suffered tremendously with high anxiety, constant flushing in my face & head that often leads to migraines, peculiar aches and pains, tingling extremities, dizziness, digestive issues and crippling fatigue. I can’t explain why this is happening now to me, except that perhaps my body was just on “overdrive” for so long & it just collapsed, but unless this goes away soon, I will have to seek out HRT, because I can’t continue feeling this way, it’s really not fun!

Hi Debra
I have developed a blood pressure issue now too.. the anxiety is back too. I agree, we can't continue feeling this way, there is no knowing when it will end, if at all. I want to start living life again because being like this, it is no fun thanks for reply and let me know what you decide

Hi Mars
Yes, that's what I'm worried about, that it will go on and on, so now that I know I am entering menopause, I'll be taking it. Which one are you on Mars, did it take long to kick in and I assume you are taking it 7 years now? thanks for replying

Yes been taking it 7 years now .. I was on Prempak C for 3 years then the real bad sweats hit me with anxiety bad ! I went back to my GP who then put me on INDIVINA 1/2.5MG ... I am now taking INDIVINA2/5mg . I have had a hysteroscopy & scan of my womb as had spotting a year ago. I had a polyp removed all fine. Just had a mammogram all fine, as long as you get checked HRT is good. Gave me back my life as it was. I would say it takes a good 6 weeks to kick in but earlier with some ladies.
