I know I’ve asked this a couple other times, but is it normal to have symptoms without feeling anxious??
I’ve been on meds for another month and a half now, and it seems like it just has had an affect on my anxiety, as i haven’t had a panic attack in two weeks. With that, I still have daily symptoms.. and I’m starting to think it’s not anxiety.
Right before I stopped having daily panic attacks, I started getting bad chest pains, and they went away after a week. And then right after, I started getting shortness of breath. It went away for a couple of days but now it’s back. Do you guys think this is normal??? Should I be worried about something?? I don’t get chest pains when working out or anything. I had multiple tests done on my heart in February, and they all came out normal. I also have visual disturbances daily, and I have a mild case of dp/dr. It’s not really dr, it’s more of me thinking I’m in a dream. Should I worry about any of this?? Also, about the shortness of breath, it’s usually only happens when I think about it.

This is something that I still struggle to get my head around. I regularly get physical symptoms even where I am not feeling particularly anxious or having anxious thoughts. I’ve had lots of tests too and they always come out fine which makes me feel great for a bit and then a different physical symptom pops up. From what I’ve read, they problem is that people with anxiety, particularly around health, get sensitised to the way their body feels. This means that they notice every physical feeling and sensation much more than a none anxious person would. Once you notice the unusual physical feeling the anxiety kicks in and this can then make it feel worse because our focus is on it or because our brain then thinks something is wrong and all of the fight or flight hormones are then released. Also, when you have anxiety you can get into habbits of holding your body in a tense posture and shallow or fast breathing - these can be things that you don’t even realise you are doing but can cause all kinds of muscular aches, pains and tension that you then think is a physical health problem. I’ve found that practicing breathing techniques and relaxation techniques has helped a bit with this. Do go and get checked at the Drs though if you are worried. Good luck!!
