Hi now read about this so called rare side effect with terbinafine been to see gp and although after reading about this has no clue how to help me regain my sense of taste as she said until now never heard of this happening.

Is there anything that will help to regain my taste or is it this long 6-8 week's wait for it to return in it's own time? im so hungry living on very very very sweet porridge and iced water as everything else is just rank 🤢🤮😱😭

If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist. This

includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. You can

also report side effects directly via the Yellow Card Scheme,

website: www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard . By reporting side effects

you can help provide more information on the safety of

    this medicine.

I copied this from the patient info sheet - have you reported your side effect? It is worth while.

I assume you have spoken to your GP about your reaction, the other thing I would do, is to ask the manufacturer's advice on regaining your taste.

I found myself in the same situation yesterday after 31 days, 250mg. Morning coffee wasn't quite right and later pop was off. It wasn't until I couldn't taste my burrito I realized I had a problem. Cookies the night before were good, lost taste overnight. I had taken terbinafine for 3 months about 20 years ago and worked great with no side effects. Googled symptoms and found the threads here. Thanks all for sharing their stories as it has definitely eased my mind knowing the cause. Today is my first day off the pills. I am not aware of anything but time for taste to return. Looks like you have a couple weeks head start Carron, how is it going?
