Hi all

Can I ask if you feel it's better to take the tablet in the morning or evening? I've been on them for 5 days and feel worse than ever

Thanks Kim

I've been off Citalopram a year now but when I took them I found it better to take at night. Gives it at least a few hours to get into your system while your in a slow mental state.

    Hope that helps

oh btw it took me a few weeks for =it to make me start feeling better. Its not an instant fix so hang on in there. About a couple of weeks and youll start feeling better than now. If you dont go back to your GP and check your on the right dosage.

Good luck but stick in there, it will help as it got me through and out the otherside. Ive been off it for almost a year now and have gotten all my self confidence back and am doing ok. You'll get there too so long as you remain positive smile

Thank you that puts my mind a rest. I'm going to have a think about what to do and if to carry on taking them or just learn to live with my anxiety.

    Hi Kim

I take mine in the morning, and some people take them at night.

You will unfortunately feel worse to start with, it's quite common.  It gets worse before it gets better - the side effects will start to ease after a few weeks.

My doctor advised taking my meds in the morning as sometimes they can interfere will sleep, though some people find they're sleepy after taking them.  It's all personal preference when you take them.

This is a great forum for support and advice, and many will support you through this difficult time.

If your suffering from anxiety you may like to see if you could be reffered for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) but usually anxiety goes hand in hand with Depression. I wouldnt stop and start the pills as they dont work like that. you have already suffered 5 days worth perhaps if you gace it say another week then see if your in a better place to make that decision.

    Best of luck
