Teaching?

Posted , 4 users are following.

I have just been to the doctor and asked for Orlistat which the Doctor gave me quite readily..... but now I'm having second thoughts. He said he wouldn't usually prescribe it to teachers in case of incontinence....

I can't think of anything worse than pooing myself in front of 30 fifteen year olds..... is it likely?

Really fed up with the extra weight but not sure if I will be able to stand the side effects.....

Also, he gave me no dietary advice - how much is too much fat?

Would be really grateful for some advice!

Hi there, I can't see what difference it makes if you're a teacher to a lot of other professions. I must admit when I first started taking them, I was a bit paranoid and nervous when I was working (I'm an estate agent). I did have a couple of mild incidents, but learnt very quickly as to the foods to avoid. I also wore dark trousers - just in case... which did help! Just avoid fatty foods, eat a museli/porridge breakfast, and a light sandwich or salad for lunch and you should be fine. Its worth it, its the only thing that has helped me lose weight in years of dieting. A total of 30llbs now in five months. Good luck and try not to worry too much - the first week is the hardest, but you get used to it fairly quickly.

    Hey ALC

Welcome to the forum, i'm new also but really really want this to work. i had the same doubts as you also; i'm a HR Manager and a large part of my day is spent talking to other people, training and presenting at board level so i can ill afford a \"little accident\"

A friend, who has used Orlistat in the past, recommended that in the first week use a panty liner - only a bit further back!, just in case and monitor it, you will soon know if you have eaten the wrong types of food and so you learn from it.

    Hope this helps
