Teeth...sheesh!

I surely must be crazy. A month ago I had some serious tooth pain...and went to the dentist because between teeth and headaches I was in serious pain. Dentist said I needed a root canal, and set me up with a specialist.
I missed the specialist appointment because I ended up out of the country and my teeth were actually fine at that point and the headaches stopped as well. No teeth issues for the past three weeks...at all. I can chew nachos on that side no problem...couldn't even chew gum on that side three weeks ago.
Now...I believe in prayer and had others praying for me...
but the dental specialist is still calling to rescedule an appointment for the root canal and if possible I would rather avoid it anyway...lol
Anyone else deal with periodic disappearing tooth pain? Not sure what to do here!

I always have issues with my teeth and I'm fed up. My dad had horrible teeth so I'm guessing he gave me a horrible gift. ha ha.. But yes a couple years ago something scary was going on on my upper right side-- I thought oh great root canal, crown, etcc.. I was super stressed and wouldn't chew on that side. I waited for my cleaning as I never tell them about an issue-- I want the X-rays or the dentist to find it. They found a cavity BUT on the other side-maybe 2. So then when I went in for the filling I brought it up to the dentist and he looked on the upper right side.. nothing there!! So I have no idea-- I'm still cautious. I just went in for my X-ray and cleaning and nothing was found except a small chip on my front tooth which they fixed. So I will continue on with my flossing , brushing and coconut oil hoping my teeth last till I'm 90. I'm good with my vit D and calcium as I want to keep my teeth strong.
Can you go to another dentist for an X-ray to see if it shows up? I too would avoid dental work if possible. Maybe you have sensitive teeth.. I have switch toothpaste for that reason so maybe that has helped me.. Good luck

Mouth issues were one of the 1st peri symptoms for me. Bleeding gums, sensitivity. Told I needed a root canal like 10 years ago. At almost 50, and menopausal, things seem to be fine. Weird what hormones do to the whole body! Haven't had the root canal yet.

WOW was told you needed a root canal and never got one? Yes, it must be hormones b-cuz a couple years ago I was having major problems but nothing showed up in X-ray or poking around.

thanks so much for the replies! I think I am going to go with my gut and simply cancel out on the root canal. athe first one I had never made a difference in my mouth pain anyway...and for the most part when there is pain it is right around my period.

I get this sometimes and like you it's around time for my period. in fact I posted about it a while back. for me, toothaches are the worst kind of pain.
