Tell me your physical symptoms

I am mostly writing this for some reassurance. I health anxiety like most of us do. It started when i was about 17 and went on a diet lost alot of weight and developed an eating disorder. I Started to google things that could happen to me and it all started there! My eating disorder maybe lasted a year and a few months. I was more afraid to die than be fat. lol 2 years ago my physical symptoms got horrible from head pressure, twitching ALL over, tingling, shocks, chest pain! every week its something else. i worry mostly bc my doctor hasnt wanted to do scans due to the fact they come and go and jump around. ive had blood test, ekg, xrays! but nothing extensive! im convinced im going to die young ! im a silent sufferer and a nurse and dont want to sound crazy but .... i just want to know some of your symptoms if you pretty much have a clean bill of health. i dont think anxiety and physical symptoms is studied enough and all docs want to do is prescribe meds.

Hi Kayla, thankyou for your message appreciate you taking the time to message. Up until I had the "panic attack" around August/September time I was fine although have had a bit of a up and down year and have put some weight on due to eating and drinking rubbish when been down in the dumps.

I am in EXACTLY the same boat and have being googling everything haha being lectured by 2 different doctors with using "Dr Google" their words. But also feel more can be done other than blood tests and ecgs same as yourself. I have managed to get my doctor to refer me to a cardiologist but because it isn't serious it will be up to 5 months. Doctors words were "they will laugh at me for sending a 28 year old with no history of heart problems there but ill do it for peace of mind"

I have got my own blood pressure monitor which shows BP and heart beat. BP is now a touch high but HR is fine. Also use my phones app (Samsung Health) and check my HR which pretty much matches up but is well within the normal limits.

I havent used doctors for 6/7 years up until this year but just dont want to feel this way anymore. My main sympton is lightheadeness from the point I wake up bang there it is. I feel spaced out I guess and then the pain that I can not describe in my chest as it isn't excruciating, neither but it is there and mainly left side (prob why im more concerned) but past the nipple area which I have being told isn't heart and also in my top left back (where I have being told to use ibu gel now, I was using deep freeze and deep heat there aswell as chest)

Sorry for rambling on about myself, how arw you coping now days? You are younger than me so try and keep positive. I completely agree with taking meds, I dont take paracetamol so an SSRI was a masssive scare but have now done almost 4 weeks on 50mg but have diazepam/valium to try and help my head and side effects.

i dont take anything. I just pray alot! I hate medications and the way they make me feel. I just turned 29 almost a month ago. I do pretty good then a new symptom pops up.

I used to use samsung health app to check my hear rate too! lol. This was back when I was in my "heart issues" fear stage. Since then I've moved past that, onto other new "fun" symptoms haha =/. I feel your pain tho, I just want to have one day where i have NO physical symptoms of anxiety at all... is that so much to ask?! lol

My advixe would be ride it out although it is easier said than done as you can see I have gone through alsorts. I use an app called headspace which may be helping a fraction aswell as taking the meds now

Oh boy, where to start with my physical symptoms haha. I'm 28 yr old female, I've had anxiety since I was about 20. But over the last 3 years or so I've had a lot of physical symptoms. I'll list some below...

    • Heart palpitations, sweating, nausea, racing heart
    • Depersonalization
    • Dizziness (feeling like I'm on a boat 24-7)
    • Nausea, diarrhea, stomach pains
    • Tingling arms/legs, numb arms/legs
    • Face feeling numb, painful muscle tension in my face
    • Cluster headaches
    • Muscle tension in my neck, back of head, shoulders
    • Chest pains, chest muscle spasms
    • Generalized itching followed by stress rash, mostly on my hands, neck
    • Ears feeling "full" like I'm on an airplane
    • Trouble sleeping
    • Seeing spots, blurred vision

I think that's most of them... I feel like I'm forgetting some but that's the ones I can think of for now. At the moment I'm struggling with the generalized itching and stomach pains =/

    neck tension,

    chest pains

    metallic taste in my mouth

They've done blood work, x-rays, ultrasounds, stress tests and everything came back fine.

Hi Manny, I've been having some stomach pains as well. Mine feel like dull stomach cramps all over my abdomen, especially on the sides lately. Seems to get worse after alcohol and heavy/fatty meals. I saw a gastro dr the other day and they want to do an endoscopy and ultrasound, but I'm curious if this is anxiety related...

      Philly,

Well in my case I had so many anxiety induced symptoms that my primary chalked my IBS to anxiety. I agree with her. I went to colorectal specialist since I was thinking I had cancer. As soon as I told him my symptoms and asked if I had colon cancer history in my family, he told me, its highly improbable that I have that he sent me home without doing colonoscopy. The funny thing, as soon I took my antidepressants and cleaned my diet, all those symptoms went away. Right now, there back since I stopped my antidepressants since they were making me aggressive towards my mother. The symptoms were like yours, aches and pains all round my abdomen, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, excessive burping, or bloating once a blue moon. Though, its all anxiety since there weeks to months. Everything is normal. That's when my anxiety is under control. So, I'd say if you want to peace of mind due the tests, though don't over due them since that just makes your health anxiety worse.

i feel your pain. my health anxiety has made me rush to the er about 30 times in a 3 month span. from chest pains, headache, dizziness, palpitations, face numbness, calf pain and stomach pain. Im the same way, once one symptom leaves and I get reassurance that Im not dying of one thing, another one begins the vicious cycle... for example... for about a month Ive been having the worst headaches and feel like I have a brain bleed, slowly killing me!!
