Tests for prostate size etc?

hi i have had psa normal digital finger diagnosis enlarged prostate symptoms getting up frequently during the night and decreasing kidney gfr .my question. will an ultrasound be sufficient to measure size of prostate cysts etc etc or would a ct abdomen scan be better. i would be paying for same. im 60yrs of age and considering uroflow or rezum. the doctor told me to wait and see that its not that bad.and told me to stop cycling which i do not want to do. i tried flomax and finestiride.to many side effects.

    Sorry that you are having a problem. If your PSA is good and the DRE is good than you have a small prostate. You may have to change your diet. Look up on the internet thing to help with the prostate.

    Ask your doctor for something other then Flomax. The side effect suck.

    For right now you do not need a procedure. I had the Urolift at 58 my prostate was closed tight. It has been 7 years and I'm still open. Rezum take from 3 month's to a year for results. I have been on this site for over 7 years. Over the last 4 I have been keeping track of the men that have had the procedure.

    Out of the 106 men that have had it done only about 45 percent have seen some improvement. Out of the 106 there are 78 that ended up with retro ejaculation. It is really how caring the doctor is and how he does it. Each doctor that does the procedure will have there own results. One can do 5 injections and the man can get retro but there also can do 15 injection and not have retro. The doctor has to stay away for the ejaculatory ducts

    Right now your doctor told you that you are okay for now. Just ask your doctor for some other medication if you don't like the side effects.

      thank you for reply ken. i have enlarged prostate my gfr is 66 creatinine clearance is average the same.im worrying that the prostate might be affecting the one kidney ? my other kidney was removed because of benign tumour when i was young.does one kidney have to work harder ? this is why im asking about ct or ultrasound to see if there is something else at play .etc. thanks again.

      There are some you can take that will not give you any side effects. I do know that they have use a low dose of Viagra and it does help also you can try Vesicare It is a muscles relaxer that will relax the groin area.

      If your doctor told you you are good for now leave it alone. You one kidney should be fine. I have one defected kidney. It is half the size as the other one and it is sitting on my bladder.
