When I was first diagnosed withvDD last year I was in a right state I wouldn't go out incase I needed the toilet I just sat in the house for weeks. Then I found this forum and members helped me to realise there is life after DD Falinia was a life saver she explained all about diet and how I was feeling I slowly got my head around what I should and shouldn't eat. I realised it was trial and error So for all you who are new to DD there is light at end of the tunnel

I think Susan has said it all. 16 years ago I was at the start of this journey, and I learned to cope and live a normal life with work and sport. I wasn't online then and I don't even know if this Forum existed. But it does now, and so many people have shared their experiences, good and bad, so everyone knows they are not alone. It just takes time to adjust and learn what is the new normal for you.

Hi Susan
I was recently diagnosed after admittance to hospital. It's been just over 3 weeks now and my appetite is not good. I'm having difficulty keeping food down and seem to have waves of nausea & light headedness. The pain went after antibiotics, however this has started to return, could there still be infection? any advice would be helpful. Thanks

I would get in touch with your DR and see them just to make sure it isn't another infection. But it does take a while to settle down after antibiotics. Good luck

Thanks I thought the nausea, headaches etc was from the medication but I still have these symptoms. I guess it's managing dietary balance which I'm not too sure of at the moment. It's good to know there's support out there, thank you any tips welcome 😃

Hi Kaz, me again!
The nausea, headaches etc. may well be from the medication as it affects and upsets all of you. Also, if your gut has been stripped of ALL it's flora (which it will have been) it will take a while for it to get back to working properly.
On my other post to you I said about stress being bad and probiotics being good. So pleased you've found these threads useful and I hope you feel better soon. Remember, if you can stay off the antibiotics by whatever means are suggested here, your poor gut will thank you!

Hi Miriam
Thanks for the info, I think stress can play a part in it. I will definitely look into this as well as diet.
Thanks 😀

Looks like I might I have found the right place to ask a few questions myself!
I've had a lot of gastric issues and the more I go to the doctor the more I don't get taken seriously!
I finally fired my gastroenterologist and found a doctor who cares, he immediately set me up for a colonoscopy which I prepped and got ready for a Tuesday colonoscopy.
This past Tuesday October 10th 2017 I went in as scheduled I want to wake up to an incomplete colonoscopy due to the finding of internal GI scarring!
The doctor insists that I've had surgery someplace at one time in my life which I know I have not my family tried to explain the same thing to him too, well I live in a lot of pain and it's actually woke me up at 2:32 a.m. in the morning on Thursday and I'm awake in pain and feeling the need to use the restroom number two.
The doctor told my family that I would have a follow up with him this following week in the meantime to go ahead and eat and do whatever I wanted but I feel like something is severely wrong nothing should wake you up in your stomach to have to use the restroom and just aching pain!
I was taking to lightly the first time around and this new doctor actually took me seriously but now I feel like maybe he's missing something too now.
I've been to the ER several times over this and it always shows that I have all this face is backed up in my GI tract even when I've explained I just went through a huge bout of diarrhea do I have a blockage that's being missed or something going on that is just not being taken seriously I don't know I'm at my wits end I don't know what to do! I'm not in one of the best states for medical actually it's pretty half-assed backwards around here and if your female especially you just get written off as crazy.
Anybody got any suggestions that can think outside the box.
The weirdest part about this is my stomach feels like it's actually hungry!
