The daily discomfort of LS

I have been diagnosed with LS for a year although was first diagnosed as eczema. I suffer continually with general discomfort from wearing underwear / trousers etc... always having to take care sitting down as can be very uncomfortable. When the flare ups happen its worse with the stinging / itching sensation. in short it makes me miserable on a daily basis. Then there is the other side of things, i cannot even contemplate sex due to the pain & dryness (i am heading towards menopause which probably doesn't help). Use Clobetasone during flare ups and a moisturusing gel daily. I would like to know if Emuaid is really helpful before trying as it is quite expensive. To know there is no cure is just frustrating at times as i feel like my whole life is being affected by it.

Your whole life is affected by it. Drs. have told me there's no cure which, to me, only means THEY don't know of a cure. If it is auto-immune, then we got into some kind of situation where our body decided to attack itself. If we got into this situation, can we get out of it? I have been studying medical journals for a year and a half and they suspect 4 different causes: Auto-immune, HPV, or lyme disease, or genetics. They don't have enough evidence to say. Understand the sitting problem very well. Am there now and it makes life quite difficult. As for EmuAid, I bought the MAX version, was $55. It did not seem to help. A cheaper experiment would be borax water where you saturate a small bottle of water with borax soap powder (yes, borax soap powder. Not boric acid or boron) and when no more borax will dissolve in the water you do soaks in a sitz bath or soak a wash rag in the water and hold it there for as long as you can. Ten mins or more. In the meantime, coconut oil, castor or olive oil should help some. Take care.

thank you for your response and tips on both emuaid and borax soap. It does seem that very little is known about the condition and it is being branded as a dreaded 'womens problem'. i just want to feel 'normal' again - get through an entire day without thinking about my vagina and how much it hurts 😦
best wishes x

You might also try castor oil or a preparation with calendula and olive oil. The latter is sold at Walgreens and was less than $10. Is there a lump on the vaginal opening? Is it red? Redness is usually a sign of inflammation. Try a cushion? I bought upholstery foam, cut it in certain shapes and that has helped a lot. Wish you well.
