The day has almost arrived

Morning girls.

So tomorrow is the day finally. Will be glad when it's done but my worry at the moment is my ovaries. Doc says he will take them if there are issues with them however I have been in so much ovulating pain for the last 4 weeks that I am ready to ask him to take them too. Normally once I have a bleed then the pain goes away but not this time round. And I currently look like I'm 6 months pregnant.

Did any of you that kept ur ovaries experience the symptoms of ovulation after surgery?

    Morning Gill,

Good luck for tomorrow, you will be fine.I had my ovaries removed and i don't even need hrt.The worst thing i have suffered is the constipation but that can take a few weeks for your bowels to get bsck to normal.I am now 3 post op.Do you know what time your operation should be?

I'm being admitted at 11.30 and nurse said at my pre op that theatre will be about 1 ish.

I've taken powders this morning to clear my bowels as I have so many issues with my bowels.

      Xx

At least you shouldn't have to wait too long if they stick to that that time.I had to be there for 7.15am and i never went to theatre until 5pm.

      Hi

I suffered with ovulation pain every month for as long as I can remember, that was one of the reasons my surgeon wanted to take my ovaries away, she said she couldn't guarantee the pain would stop. ( I actually thought the pain may increase) for this reason besides a few others I agreed to let them go. I have been very emotional about losing them since having the op (I'm 3 wks post op) but after doing some homework and meeting a few people that also had the same op as me ( and they're into their 70's) I ve come to terms with it, my HRT is being sorted out in 3 wks. I m sure you will make the decision you feel right for you. Good luck tomorrow, the operation is honestly the easy part, it's the recovery that's slow and uncomfortable. X

Just to add, I went to a private hospital too, it was amazing. I had to be there at 1pm and was going to theatre for 1.50pm! I doubt you will have to wait, I m sure it will be fine

Thanks honey. I'm hoping it will be quicker than 2 hrs wait. How long were u in theatre for? X

I went the theatre at 1.50pm and remember waking up at 4.35pm, I was in my room for 5pm with husband there waiting for me. They offered me a spinal to numb the pain before I was put to sleep and therefore they don't have to give you such a deep anaesthetic and u can honestly say it was brilliant. I woke up in no pain at all and was nt the least bit groggy. My hubby couldn't believe I d just come out of major surgery. Hope yrs is as good as mine was x

    Hi Jill

Wanted to wish you good luck for tomorrow.  Try and get a good night's sleep it will help the healing if you are calm and rested.  You will feel so much better after the op.  Let us know how you get on when you can.

I have kept everything after the op (My lovely surgeon even put my womb back!) but I am not much help to you as I am 65 (now feel 30 after the op) and gone through the dreaded menopause.

I will be thinking of you tomorrow.  Take care

    Love

    Jacqui smile
