The End

I’m 10 years into menopause. The symptoms still come back with a vengeance! And I mean anxiety, hot flashes, dizziness, off-balance, mood swings.
Is there anyone out there in meno-space successfully back to a bit of their “old self”? Any encouraging stories? I could use a few happy endings!!

Hi Jamie, i have been in the "space" a teensy bit longer
than you (15 yrs) ! I hit a down patch a few years ago when some draconian older female doctor who thought it was time I got off the Livial! She cited research blah blah and it's negative aspects! Sadly I chose her thinking she would be more understanding!
after enduring a few months of all the symptoms returning I got angry and insisted I knew my body better and armed myself with new research using the Jean Hales site and told her I was not leaving with out a script. I won as she prescribed with a tut" tut! Giving me all the doom and gloom on negative totally disregarding my feeling so slow and miserable !
Needless to say after that win I promptly changed GP again a female but a younger one and more empathetic acknowledging that women our age were the only ones who know the day to day effects.
Alas she left the practice for family reasons but referred me to one of whom I dubbed the older partner of the practice and male!!! I was anxious thinking here we go again another fuddy duddy! How wrong I was,he is so understanding and his philosophy is to work with the women as they better know what they are suffering! He has a firm belief that the jury is out on the initial research and happy to prescribe Livial ( Tibolone) for as long as.....,,, Having gone back to Livial I am happy , have energy and most of all my husband is happy as our intimacy has improved 😊
So I hope you take time to review your treatment with your doctor as I am confident you can get back your mojo. I am 65 ! Jenny

How old are you now?
Meno space...i love it.
I dont know if we are ever our old selves, as we are always changing, we are going through a transition, but wayyyy too long. Ive been struggling about 1 1/2 half years now, solid. I dont know about 10 yrs if i could manage that.
Have you had long bouts of good moods and health or has it been not so good for this long?
What about HRT for you? so many different takes on this, some women are changed forever on it, others not so much.
im sorry for such a long journey

I WISH I could eat bottles of HRT!! My OB/GYN will only prescribe me anti-depressants due to a long history of breast cancer in my family from my Mom thru my Aunts. I’m screwed!! Still waiting for my Prince to come & end this.
Thank you all for sharing your comments🖤

Hi Jamie!
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. You should not have to live like that. These bioidenticals changed my life after trying everything else. Need to find a menapause specialist. Menapause sucks!!!! But you can put those lost hormones back into your system and live a happy life. They must be bioidenticals. Hope this helps! Keep us posted🙏
