Hi

11 days post op.Just returned home after being out for 4 hrs.Firstly, half hour stroll in local park with one stick then off shopping to various supermarkets,in and out of car, walked around the shops.I was so anxious to get out in the fresh air before the weather is due to turn unpleasent-it was wonderful.I feel really proud of my acheivement and not too much pain, just aching.

I will be having a rest now.

Sarah this gives me real hope. I'm having my opinion next Friday. I hate being inactive. It's one of the things that's worrying me most

      Ditto

I am a very active 49 year old, full time community based nurse, totally dreading being dependent on others and inactivity.I have been outside prior to this for walks however felt that i pushed myself today and to be honest, could have carried on,the only reason i returned home when i did was down to my driver.

      Good luck.

      Hi

previous hip pain completly gone, just aches from wound site and muscle tension but you get that anyway until all the tendons and muscles have knitted back together. To be honest,i was dreading the whole thing and had a really negative experience, however can now see the light at the end of the tunnel and yes,i'm so glad i had it done.

Fantastic and just 11 days after op. Gives us all hope we will be the same when the time comes to go under the knife.

Lots of people seem to be having locals or half body being put to sleep, I can't even think about that option, I'm going to need to be fully out when I get a hip done!

    Hi

I came out of hospital on a Monday {first THR} and by Sat (5 days ) I was in our Metro Centre {large shopping centre}....had to nag my husband to take me  lol

I used a scooter and was only there for about 50 mins and he came back and picked me up.

That was my start   ....I was so pleased with myself. wink

    Love
