Hello all you ladies,

I have recently come across adult colouring books. They are very good for relaxation and de stressing. Apparently they are the in thing at the moment! There are a varieties of books with all different themes etc. You can buy online and from Sainsburys, W h Smith and probably a whole load of shops etc. I thought it might be good foranyone recoving from ops when you have to rest! Also de stressing for peri/menopausal symtoms and also good for elderly patients resting in beds/carehomes etc. Hope this advice may help you or anybody you may know. The books are not like childrens couloring books, they have a bit more finer detail. They bring out the artist in you for those that cannot draw like me! Give them ago yourselves or give them to other people you know that might appreciate them. Take care all. Keepsmiling X

Wow, that is a great find Keepsmiling. I am glad you shared it with us. Nothing like coloring as we all loved it as children, we can still enjoy it as adults with adult coloring books that are more challenging. Love the idea, especially when one is bored.

                                                    Best wishes and good blessings

Hi I saw these books the other day a bee keeping friend showed me several of them and she said they calm her down after a heavy day

Yes, it made me feel a bit silly to start with as i kind of felt like a child again. But actually because they are finer detail etc, they actually make you concentrate and relax and forget problems but also actually enjoy thinking about what colours to use etc. They fill in those moments when you just want to switch off and indulge in colour and think off nice things. I think off birds, flowers, trees, animals and the sea and sunshine. I also agree with you earlier comment walking is also good therapy to destress and it is also good exercise. Thanks Lynn i will keep in contact.

Yes, they are good, but i did feel a little bit silly when i started to colour. But actually if it is something that helps you with stress it must be a good thing for a while. Any ideas to bring me down a notch or two at times i am willing to try!
