Ok so this is very odd for the past 6 months i have been having days where i feel like im gagging?! I dont have an appetite but i dont feel nauseated either at the moment but i feel like the back of my throat keeps having this gagging feeling and if i drink something it makes it worse. Also there have been plenty of days where i feel like i have a huge lump in my throat but thats not the case today with the gagging feeling. Not to mention my mouth feels tingly and i cant taste a damn thing! Yesterday i had intense nausea and a mild headache....this crap it torture! Anyone else feel like this?

YES!! I HAVE BEEN HAVING A FEELING OF MY THROAT CLOSING UP BUT I CAN BREATHE AND SWALLOW JUST FINE! THE GAGGING IS FROM EXCESS MUCUS FROM MY SINUSES. IT IS ALL SO FRUSTRATING. HANG IN THERE, THAT'S ALL WE CAN DO..

I'm 51 and for the past 6 months have been experiencing sore throat that sometimes radiates to one or both ears causing earache like pain....not fun. My swallowing and appetite are fine. Hang in there!!

Hi Brandy,
YES, i have been having this symptom since the middle of July, and I hate it!! Tried to drink a bit of my favorite soup yesterday and almost choked as I was hit by the unexpected gag reflex. If it's really strong, and I can't get it to stop, it does make me nauseous.
Does this have any pattern for you?
Definitely worse in the mornings for me, so I was thinking it might be reflux, but I don't know for sure... you are right, it is torture. I feel like a prisoner counting out the days of an unknown sentence.
Hang in there,
Sara

Sara....the only pattern ive noticed with mine is when my progesterone (im assuming) is giving me trouble. I will feel so low, like my legs are like jelly and cant hardly muster strength to do a thing...then my mouth gets weird feeling like its numb with a filmy slim to it, then the gagging starts! And yes i do eventually get nauseous too and my gut starts gurgling and making loud rolling sounds....im so sick of this kind of life. im at a point where im no longer going to force food to survive, if i lose too weight so be it im sick to death of it. And yes mine is almost always in the morning and it lasts until late afternoon or evening 😦

I am with you. I have figured out I can't really do "right" in the eating department right now.... I have to eat what I can, when I can. that's as good as it's going to get right now. If I can manage soup by lunchtime, that's a good day.

ive had this gagging sensation for a few years always in the mornings no triggers that i can figure out it takes me half the morning to take my meds cause of it. its horrible and if its real bad i get nauseous and start dry heaving.
