i had sex with my husband and another woman. my husband has been my only partner for 5 years always unprotected. the threesome included oral from me to the other woman and to my husband followed by sex no condom about a year ago. i just found out i have herpes no symptoms through a blood test. my husband is negative. could i have gotten this from the woman and he not have gotten it? what are the chances?

    theoretically its possible.

she could have shed virus and transmit it to you, eg your mouth. your partner might have just escaped the transmission from her (maybe good resistance, etc)

if its hsv2 then it could possibly never give an oral outbreak (hsv2 is less "strong" there)

but could also be from another partner long ago or even playing with an infected child during ur childhood... who knows.

fact that u didnt infect ur partner could indicate u dont shed virus often, so thats good.

    do u have any symptoms?

No i have no symptoms. I dont understand how i have has sex with my husband for over 5 years unprotected and he doesnt have it. he has to think i cheated and i never did. the only time was when we did it together with the other woman. im afraid he is going to leave me now. i dont know what to say to him to get him to stay. he is afraid of getting it from me. i dont have outbreaks which is why i guess i never knew. can he end up with this years later and it just not show right now? i have been told yes. i dont know what to do. i was with my childs father for 8 years before my relationship now. never cheated on him. he is getting tested tomorrow. if he doesnt have it then i cant help but wonder if it came from the woman. do you know how long it takes for antibodies to form? my result was 13.5. do you know if this is something that takes years to have a number like this or only a few months.

did you get tested before you met him? its possible you could have had it for a while and you just never knew because youve never had symptoms or anything. which type did the test came back positive? hsv1 or 2? the only way you would catch it from her is if she gave you oral, or you all rubbed genital areas.

i have always had std and aids checks yearly to to me knowledge herpes testing isnt done through standard std checks, so i havent been able to find record of it. i got a new doctor and he just tests for everything so thats how i had found out. hs2s is that i have i tested positive at 13.5 antibodies. i dont know what that number means.. do you? she gave me oral and i gave her oral he did not give her oral but we all kissed and he had sex with both of us in between
