Tibolone vs Livial

Posted , 4 users are following.

My prescription for tibolone now comes as a generic drug. I have for year been on the branded version Livial. I realise the change shouldn't matter, but I have felt far, far more tense since the change (now 4 months). Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Hi. I recently moved countries and as a result my new HRT prescription was generic. I was given Tibolona Aristo 2,5mg, same active ingredient as Livial but with disastrous consequences. Very quickly I noticed increase in frequency and intensity of hot flushes, feelings of anxiety and depression, increased appetite, decreased libido, increased dry eyes, feeling lethargic during the day and feeling as if I was “behind glass”, a bit disconnected. It was all quite scary as this is so not-me. I then realised it must be the new HRT as I’ve had similar symptoms on trial HRT before I was put on Livial, which of course is quite magical. I stopped taking the Tibolona and almost immediately regained my energy and positivity. I have been requested to give feedback to my gynaecologist and will do so this week.
