Tingling in buttocks

Im now almost 4 weeks post op and today I've had a strange sensation in my buttocks, a bit like pins and needles. Can anyone advise if this is normal or is it completely unrelated? Thanks

gaynor the sensation you feel is usually due to the position you were put in for your operation...your legs in lithotomy poles. It tends to pull on the muscles and tendons.

I haven't felt it before though, Matron. I did have a lot of pain in my buttocks for the first few days after the op but this is different.

It could be the internal sutures tightening. I did get a similar pain.

It's a lot better this morning. I can feel something inside so you're probably right, thank you matron.

Which op did you have gaynor? Sacrospinous fixation might cause that as the surgeon puts stitches in the sacro ligaments and i've been told i will get pain in my buttock, whichever side they do it!  rolleyes

Hi Pollyanna. I had enterocele and rectocele repairs done. It's a really weird and unpleasant sensation. I've taken paracetamol and ibuprofen but to no avail. Hopefully it will pass.
