Good night my fellow owls. I was wondering if anyone else's tinnitus is driving them round the bend? I can't hear what people are saying to me, I can't concentrate ( the fog doesn't help though) and this horrible whiney high pitched screech is all I can hear, the hellelujah chorus would be a better option to hear 🙊Â
i always have had it in the background, but now it's the always there. Is it another joy of FM or something else? Night time is impossible with the pain and tinnitus .... Thank goodness for art therapy books to stop me from screaming. If only for a short while before my wrists and fingers object, grrrrrrrrrr,Â

I think you may have answered my question! I know that it has always been there but it has been so loud this past few weeks it's unbearable almost. My hay fever has been bad in that time too. The other thing that is different is I am not at work, as a teacher of boisterous sixteen year olds, life is a lot more quiet, although there is plenty of noise around me. But obviously less than there used to be!Â
I always thought I had good hearing but probably not above average!!

at last I've come across someone else who has tinnitus and FM. I tried all sorts of things to keep my tinnitus under control, white noise, meditation and so on. Recently I perforated my eardrum and the noise inside my head drove me crazy. I don't expect what I say next to be of any help to you but I found relief when my husband was diagnosed with sleep apnea and he was given a chap machine. After feeling deeply for him it dawned on me that here was something else to disturb my sleep further. Strangely it seems to have really help the both of us. Even with the recent ear problem it definitely seems to have helped me.
Im sorry that's not much use to you but I hope you find something that works for you too.

I too have perforated my ear drum on several occasions, the tinnitus is really inside my head. I think my next plan is to buy a wireless speaker pillow and listen to my audio book to see if that will help me sleep!
I am so glad you have found something to help you, it must be such a reliefÂ
i'll let you know how I get on with the pillow idea! Pilipala x

pitches going on. I learned that it is hereditary. My mom &
brother have it also. It has definitely gotten worse over the years but most times I can tune it out. I am definitely very sensitive to noises like clapping, my husband hitting the return key in his
computer(!) & odd little noises. It makes my ears feel like they
momentarily inflate then release. It's hard to describe but pretty painful. I'm sure one of my fellow tinnitus sufferers can
sympathize. Good luck on your journey to peace & quiet <3

I do count myself very lucky to live in a part of Wales with beautiful beaches and magnificent mountains, it really does lift my spirits to go and sit at the beach when I am feeling low and painful! The only thing missing at the moment is the sun and hot weather!! Â Pembrokeshire is beautiful.
Gentle hugs hope you are having a good weekend!Â
