hi folks, it's me again.. Just wanted to know if anyone has found the same pain I'm going thru 8 months down the road. My inner thigh has excruciating pain and also up the back side of the thigh. I had Tkr right knee March 2016. I do all the exercises and more. If I happen to skip a day, it is rare, however pay for that more by end of day. Most days by late afternoon my pain gets severe n got to rest. My day has pretty much ended. Not sure if I should go back to original surgeon or seek a second opinion. Been told that most docs will tell u to go back to original doc? I'm sooooo confused, don't know what direction to take. Am I lookin at a revision??? Last visit surgeon said I fell into the 20% group who don't do so well, but I was determined n he said see u in December. My nerves n emotions are shot, but I try to do my best each day. Thanks for taking the time to read listen to me, kathy p

Hi I am truly sorry you have gone through all the trauma of a tkr and still experiencing pain.
Have you a hydrotherapy pool near you, they are amazing, I'm waiting to go, what are your xrays saying

Thanks, I think I may try that as well. And maybe rest a couple days. I'm to see surgeon dec 2, but since it's Monday tomorrow I'm going to try to up the appt., last X-ray showed all ok ( about 3-4 months ago). I just don't think "all" is ok? Ahhh but what do I know, I'm just the patient in constant pain, have to keep smiling as much as I can. Thanks for your thoughts, best, kathy p.

So sorry to hear of your pain - it's so exhausting. I'm not 5 weeks since TKR yet and have all kinds of aches and pains some as a direct result of surgery and others relating to the exercises.
You may find taking medication and resting for a while - perhaps a day or two - and then return to exercises but gently - little by little increasing them but not over doing it. Hope that helps!

thanks for your thoughts Elizabeth. I think your right, will rest up n get go slowly back into exercise program. I think I might have pulled or sprained or even maybe a rupture??? I just don't know anymore. Every time I do bike, leg lifts, walking machine, I pay for it later, even when I just do floor routine ( pulling on the leg it irritates that muscle? Thanks for your well wishes, best, kathy p

I know I have nerve damage on top of knee, I told surgeon, n he said "it happens". I'm glad it wasn't his nerves though, haha. I'll look into that as well, hard to know what doc to go to first, the co pays start skyrocketing. I think I should go back to my pcp, primary doc. Maybe he can suggest what direction I should take first??? Soooo frustrated! Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions, kathy p

I hear you and have empathy. I am nearly 9 months in from TKR. I seem to
have 2 issues. A huge, swollen knee that hurts and stings and nerve damage to my spine. Don't know if I am allergic to the glue or plastic.
(Had to have Titanium because I am allergic to Nickel) or if my knee pain is coming from the spine. I was given an epidural and feel like that is the
cause of the damage. However, if you have ever watched this surgery, it is brutal and there is considerable manipulation involved. I have a sciatic
pain from my buttocks to my 3 middle toes. I live on Gabbapentin and Percocet. It has changed my life! I have to remind myself that there are so many people who are dealing with much worse. And we, at least, have medical care and much prayer to help us cope.

Yes, Sheri we do.. U sound like your going thru a lot yourself, like u, I feel your pain and emotions. I just try to keep a smilin upper lip n strive to find the answers I need to relieve this constant turbulence goin on with this body. This morning my lower back decided to make a big pop sound when I went to put on my shoes on, ouch, I thought, now what, where did that come from??.🤔😡. I took a aleve, perc n then muscle relaxer , so far so good with inner thigh n back (bearable) don't want to get too loopy. I hate takin that stuff. Will do for a couple days n see how it goes. Praying your condition gets better, best regards, kathy p.

Thank you. There are so many people going through pain. I keep reminding myself ..... It could be worse. I have a lot of family support and many are
praying for my healing. I guess in God's time.
I am pursuing a sample of the glue and plastic to see if I am allergic to either. The don't know what I will do. Just keep on keeping on!

Hope your feeling a bit better after giving yourself some rest, I have physio who insists that so long as xrays are good then its obviously muscular, also spoke to a friend last night who runs a well respected sports injury clinic in Leicester and confirmed her diagnosis as well, so he suggested 2/3 days rest from stringent exercises and just walk and heat on for 10/20 mins max.
Then see how it goes.
Because we have had bone injury we presume its that that's giving us grief when the muscles take longer to heal.
