TKR, having hip & IT issues not bending well

Posted , 8 users are following.

I'm 4 weeks TKR post op.  I was doing well at 3 weeks and pushed myself a bit too much and have now had regression.  When I bend and straighten my knee I get shooting pains down my leg.  I am almost straight and can only get 95 degrees after my PT massages and loosens it.  My leg is still extremely stiff and I have a limp and cannot bend it when I walk.  I'm 45 years old and super frustrated.  Anybody out there experience something similar?  Advice?

I feel your pain. 5 weeks out from TKR, currently laying on a heating pad. The siatic pain is unbearable. It definitely has affected my progress. I did not have home health or home PT after surgery. I've tried everything to ease the pain. This my first night back in my bed, I've been couch sleeping since the first week. I have no answers, I can only tell you that it seems to be the norm. I just remind myself that in 6 months I will be better. I'm at 100 degrees flexion and -4 extention. I started a blog to share my journey and it has helped with keeping me focused on my recovery. Stay positive my friend..
