I'm having issues with my ankle and foot. Feels like shin splints. Nothing I do helps this. Anyone else experience this? Laying on my back causes it to be worse. PT says massage the foot like I could reach it. Suggestions?0

This happened to me at about four months post op, but probably in my case not connected.  Mine is osteo chondritis and tendinitis in both ankles. . .Like you, though, when lying down the pain does get worse, and also first thing in the morning it is difficult to even walk.. . . thankfully, wears off quite a bit after about thirty steps. . .

Hi Mamadoks - sorry to hear that - that's a new one to me and i've had both knees replaced.  Does it help when she or someone massages your foot?  Try that - if it doesn't, then at least u know doesn't matter that u can't massage your own foot.  Jesus, i'm 6 mos out on my second one and i can't massage my foot!  What are we magicians?  Try to elevate and see if that helps.  So sorry - good luck

      M,

I struggled with ankle pain for about 8 weeks. It only started about 6 weeks after surgery. I iced the ankle and seems to be mostly resolved now. The icing really helped me.
