Anyone suffer from tmj and what are your symptoms

    Hi Lisa,

    Yes, I suffer from TMJ and its very painful, my jaw locks and clicks.

    I saw my dr and I had an xray, they noticed an abnormality but nothing serious, I saw my dentist and had exercises to do for 3 weeks, no better.  So now I am waiting to see a Maxillo-Facial specialits.

    how long has the TMJ been troubling you Lisa and what are your sumptoms?

      I get temple pain mostly on right side and discomfort near ear don’t hear no sounds get a ache neck at back feels tense my eye hurts sometimes which don’t know if it’s related or not about year ago after I had wisdom tooth out I got jaw pain he done X-ray said do I glentch my teeth not that I know if I do do it X-ray showed wear and tare ask me to go doc for a arthritis test which did can back clear he gave me a mouth gaurd to use and use during the day which seems to help a little I stopped using it when pain goes away but now I use it pain still there and get shootingpain to temple too

      wow that sounds so painful!  I would definitely get a referal to a specialist via your dentist, they will do that as they have done for me.

      I have been taking Amitryptiline and Diazapan for the pain, but had to stop as I was getting so many headaches from side effects.

      I have to wait for my appointment now.

    Hey Lisa, I suffer with tmj it can be really painfull at times. Ear aches my teeth throb and my temples throb I've even had shooting pains up the side of my face and in my teeth they were unbearable. I'm waiting to go back and get a mouth guard to stop me clenching my teeth I never realised I did it at first but I'm noticing myself do it all the time mainly when I feel stressed.

      Sometimes I don’t know where the pain is coming from feels tender in front of right ear temple pain now and then and pain and back of neck mostly on right side can’t feel no pain from my teeth sometimes get this shooting pain like a electric shock

    Hi Lisa! I suffered from TMJ and the pain is unbearable. I had pain on my face, neck, and jaw joint area. And I faced difficulty in chewing food. My friend suggested seeking help from a TMJ oral surgeon. And I had undergone a TMJ treatment from a clinic in Lexington ( http://concordlexington.com/procedures/temporomandibular-joint-tmj/ ). Are you suffering from TMJ? Did you consult a dentist?
