Hi Claire

Just wanted to apologise for not wishing you good luck for your operation, my computer was causing chaos and had to get the big guns in to cure it, so have been out of action for a while.  I do hope it all went well and you are on the mend.

Love

Hi Jacqui.  All went well, had to have anterior repair as well as hysterectomy and posterior repair.  The former was not planned.  Was done Tuesday and came home Thursday.  I was really well and on no pain relief.  However Saturday the dreaded wind pain arrived, followed by eight bowel movements!!  I wondered where it was all coming from.  I m now really sore and feel bruised but think that is the bowel problem.  I can t believe how easy the op actually was.  Any news on yours ?   Claire

      Hi Claire

What a fantastic start you have had, to not have to have pain relief. lol Saturday sounds like quite an ordeal for you.redface  My surgeon said that they really batter the bowel and the bladder so be prepared for some suffering there.  Glad to hear you are on the mend, be careful not to do too much, especially as you are feeling so well.  rolleyes

The good news is the hospital has started operating again, even weekends to catch up, the bad news is 4.5 months waiting as they are so far behind!  I've just heard I have to have my cataracts done very soon as I am having terrible problems!   So I will be getting surgery, just not where I expected it!  cry

Keep up the good work Claire, you are going to be my role model.  lol

Hi Jacqui.   Wasn t so good last night.  Really uncomfortable in the night as couldn't t wee!,,  anyway all seems ok now, if a bit slow.  Been to the loo again today and trying to keep bowels moving, although not easy.  My husband is a Pharmacist so got him to get some different softeners today.  Now got Dulcolax which he says is better as it works a different way.  Discussed Lactulose which he says changes the environment of your bowel..I can only trust him and try the Dulcolax.  Sorry to hear you ve now got yet another op to face.  Hope all is well for you soon.  Love Claire xxx

      Hi Claire

How fantastic to have your own Pharmacist.  I have to use Movicol, one a day because I have Diverticulitis, it seems to keep the pain away, and I have had very few attacks since I have been on it.  Have been told to have three per day after the op until everything settles down.  But I will bear Dulcoease in mind just in case.  I have written it down in my Hysterectomy journal.  I am like a squirrel gathering nuts!

So sorry you had a bad night, hopefully you will get a good night's sleep tonight.  Sleep helps the healing.  I notice on the site everyone seems to have a few good days and then a few not so good.  I suppose there is an awful lot to heal and bruising to go down etc.  Hang on in there, it will come right.
