To newbies diagnosed hsv2

If you are to have sex with someone who doesnt have it tell them first and let them make an informed decision. Because it doesnt matter whether you use protection or are on an antivirial there is always a risk you can pass it on. Lived experience. 30 years and counting to the day for a cure before i die!!!! And some doctors are useless!!

Secondly longterm use of antivirals can damage your liver and kidneys

What do you recommend since you’ve had it for that long to prevent any future outbreaks to us newbies?  Please give advice since like you said a lot of Doctors don’t really help much.

Firstly you cant completey stop them and Im speaking from experience. I get an OB about every 2 years or so and with a short course of antivirals gets rid of it quick. It ready depends on your immune system some people have lots of OB and need suppression for 6 months others dont get any OB. The longer you have it the less it bothers you, but i recently had 3 OB in 3 months so it is very unpredictable.

Know your body and pay attention to the signs and be consistent with the treatment. In regards to docs you need a supportive one. If you have anymore questions you can let me know

      Cheers

I just had the first outbreak. I am finding it is so hard to accept it. And I still don’t believe and have not came to terms. The first outbreak is gone, but I can’t emotionally feel normal again. How am I going to continue living with it. Can I tell myself that I don’t have it as I don’t feel anything while I am not having outbreak just like lots of people has it but they just don’t know. So they don’t have to carry it in their mind. Help me please please

Not sure where you live but get some valtrex and manage it. Learn the signs of your OB so you can start treatment asap

      Good luck

    Thank you for the advice.

I do have another question. Regarding the sores I don’t believe I have experienced one yet but do all sore get like an actual open sore or some different? And when you are getting an OB what will be the early signs of it?

I can answer that one for you. You may not get any just shed the virus. Sore can be very thin cuts, ulcers or itchy marks it depends on the person. Some get very pronounced sores all over. There are some really good examples to look at.

Oh okay now I’ll have a better understanding thank you for that.

Would like bone ache also be a symptom that your having an OB or that you’re about to? And this may be a bit of TMI but I know for women we can have some inside our vaginal canal with that said does that also come with discharge from an OB? Idk if any one on here can answer that one.

Have not heard about the bone ache usually neuro pain in the leg lower back pain and vaginal discharge if the sores are inside. Best management is antivirals if you are having lots of obs. Over a longer period 10 plus years your body seems to manage with only few ob.

H is a pain i note lots of ppl state that its only a skin condition but for some it can be an ongoing problem

      Cheers

I have another question that has arised. Are flu/cold like symptoms also a sign of a possible OB coming or a symptom that you are already having an OB. Just want to know and get more familiarization with this.  Plus any other knowledgeable suggestions and thoughts with this would be greatly appreciated as well.

You have it for 30 yrs.

did you pass it to your partner?

Did protected sex fail with you?

So having lived with genital herpes, have you always used protection when receiving oral sex? As I have read there is a risk of transmission to the mouth? Though they say it’s unlikley though more common in those with weak immune systems.

    Many thanks for any help
