I hope someone can help me as I ma confused after leaving a meeting with MD who is listed as 'lime literate' (his parentheses)
I was bitten by a tick (on the back of my neck) on 4/13 but did not realize it and remove it until 4/20.
I began having symptoms after a week or so- sleep disturbance, aches, headaches, tingling and numbness on a few days on fingers, chills, feeling warm (but no fever). General malaise, a bit tired, odd-feeling.
I kept up my schedule but wen to my doctor twice= they did blood tests and refused to treat as the tests were negative.
I saw the specialist today and he said I had Lyme and presecribed prescribed the following for 3 months- 400 mg of doxycyline a day and 400 mg of hydroxychloroquine a day (again for 3 months). (Also advised many supplements) Is this not a lot of meds. for a long time given the stage and lack of severity of symptoms?
thnks so much.

Hi 140Allston,
I am having a huge problems to find a Lyme literate doctor. Can you please help.
I was bitten by a tick in July 2016, removed it insensitively as I was not sure what it was initially.
Did not develop any rash but felt very fatigued.
Since then had very mild joint aches (put it down to age) and pain in my shoulder. The doctor diagnosed it as neuropathy.
Five weeks ago I came down with flu symptoms, fatigue I never experienced before, neck stiffness, weakness in my legs and hands, joint aches, pelivic pain, frequent urination, chest pain (went to A&E, heart ok), pains in the arms and hands, almost like golf elbow or carpal tunnel syndrome. All the test were negative. Paid privately for ELISA, that came out negative. Feeling desparate and not knowing what to do.
Please help
Miriam
