I had TKR 12 days ago. I have never had so much pain. I usually have quite a high pain threshold but this pain tips any I have ever had. I feel like I have a elephant leg. Just found this forum and it is good to know it's not just me suffering like this. I feel that I have been sent home and that's it. Found some usefull tips on the sight. My question is there has been no mention of follow up foR for my knee. I have to go to have my stitches out to morrow and not due to see specialist for another 4 to 5 weeks. when did other people start OR and did they have to arrange it themselves.

Do you think I should copy this post to someone in authority? Would they carry on as they do, if they knew how we all felt????
Sorry, bad day today

It takes at least 3 mths for things to settle down to a lower level of discomfort..you just have to take constant Meds to cope with it n don't miss them as you will struggle.
Anytime you want to chat..message me I too have to repeat it again this week as mine has failed!! ...only someone who has this knows how u feel x

Funny enough I'm having a very bad day today too and my good intentions to get to the local pool to do a few exercises had to be abandoned as I feel queasy, and worryingly both of my legs really hurt, so instead of the pool I've been in the recliner! Perhaps I over did it yesterday as I went out for Sunday lunch which involved sitting at a table for around two hours - murderous! Plus car journey of approx hour round trip! Big mistake but I was fed up of being stuck in my home for so long and wanted to do "normal " things! I should have learnt yo be patient from the first TKR but obviously didn't!
