does anyone have any Information on the transmission rates for people who are positive hsv2 and using Valtrex daily for suppression?
I'm going to say it and I'm sure I'll see a backlash but I'm asking in persons not using condoms.
My doctor told me she has patients that have not used condoms with their partners and they have never become infected.
she cited a study that said the rate was 4% for females transferring to males and then said if on Valtrex it was 2% and if he used a condom down to 1%
this seems promising to me of course but it seems equally too good to be true. I've read these stats in different studies but I am then also reading you have to use condoms all the time and if you don't you're spreading the virus to everyone you touch.
I am scared to even ask these questions because i fear judgment from the community but here we are.
is anyone or has anyone participated in a relationship with someone that you did not pass the virus to?
they say 4% among couples having sex on average twice a week for 1 year. I still haven't figured out if its the same % for couples having less sex than that or for people that aren't couples for example a single female in a casual relationship with the same person they see less frequently
i know some members are probably crawling in their skin reading this as you are supposed to be careful all the time but I'd like to just ask realistically. if 4% is a legitimate stat and many couples dont experience a transmission it calms my mind a bit.
I just didnt intend on using condoms for the rest of my life and while some freak out when I say that others say they don't use them in their relationships.
its been very stressful reviewing 10s of studies that suggest life doesn't have to change much but then hearing it absolutely does.
