Trying out going back to work

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hello eveyone. I went to my Dr. today and he has agreed to let me go back to workk tomorrow. I am exactly 16 weeks out from my TKR. I am 0 and 110 and 115 when I have help.I still have a lot of scar tissue to break up. I only work 7.5 hours a week. I am a teacher aide in special Ed. I have access to an elevator if I need it. I am sitting part of the day and then moving around a bit. Not tons of walking so I think I will be fine. Kind of nervous as I still do have stiffness and pain off and on. I sure hope I made the right choice!

Hey kimmers. What Chico said!! Take it slow. Move around a bit if you can because sitting down for long periods, is my personal enemy. I'm at nearly 12 months bilaterals on Mar 21, 2016, and I have just completed a week's work. Flat out travelling and flying and moving. I need a holiday. My hat's off to you at 16 weeks, returning to work. How old are you? Be kind to yourself and medicate when you need to. No shame in having a day off when you need it. This is the self preservation society! xx

    Hi Kimmers,

I hope your return to work goes well. I am at 4.5 months & returned to work at the beginning of January. I only work 2 mornings a week so that's ok. I was exhausted the first day back but so glad to be there.

So I wish you well & enjoy your return to work but do be careful.
