Underwear and Prostate?

Posted , 6 users are following.

I have some history with an enlarged prostate. Recently however i have had an issue which is driving me completely crazy. LIKE CLOCKWORK every night at around 3am i would have to pee. I did just recently switch from boxers to more tight fitting briefs so part of me suspects this might be the problem. Anyone have similar experience?

Doubtful, imo. Sitting puts more pressure there than undies. If you fit the broader BPH profile, underwear -- if you'll pardon the pun -- is a stretch.

No. I don't wear clothes in bed but I do have BPH and suspect you do too.

Although you didn't state your age, once per night isn't unusual. However, a sudden change in urinary habits with prior BPH would warrant a consultation with your urologist.

I've always worn briefs. The number of times I get up at night is directly related to the amount of fluids I drink in the evening.

My experience as well. Three hrs (or less) before bedtime, always weighing the pros and cons of a large glass of milk or juice. Thirst wins out half the time and there I am at 1a and 4a focused on the flow.

As some have indicated, drink little or nothing in the say 3 hrs before going to bed.

Also wear absorbent pads. They will absorb what little pee you will have if you drink little before bed AND you'll not have to move out from the bed at 03:00
