Undiagnosed chronic urinary discomfort

Since last 3 years I had mild biting type pain on start of urination...stream also not very good... And at the end same strange feeling was there and afterwards for few minutes there used be a feeling of pressure, burning, ......I had to divert my mind as if I listen to my body n go again to pee then it would become more painful.
I thought its UTI which I got after my c-sec in 1998. So I ignored it but whenever I got my urine test done it came negative, . sometimes I used to get real very painful flare ups and used to subside after 2-3 hours, only trick was I had to divert my mind

snap... I have exactly the same ...
but mine was uti ... Just finishing some norfloxacin for mine
and now much better , i was like this all last weekend 😩
also in the past i have had this and wasnt a UTI / Cystitis it was senstive bladder and the doc gave me oxybutynin tabs to use when the urge and pain arose ..
it relaxed the bladder muscle and i use them when this pain comes..
but on this occasion it was a uti/cystitis
cranberry juice good for cystitus

the day I start my antibiotic..I feel much better but again the next day things turn the same. But still tht strange pain is no more. But burning and pressure is there. Which also gets better after some time . This is all at uretheral level. Can that hormonal creams help. If anyone knows.😊 coz pm none of my doctor advised it yet.

Horrible isnt it.. I get sensitive sometimes just like you say urethral tube ..
And when weeing and straight after..
I had my bladder checked with camera years ago .. Nothing wrong..
Thats why they gave me those oxybutunin tabs they are great...
My gyno a month ago suggested Ovestin Estriol for vaginal dryness that also keeps the bladder in check..
But i am post menopause just and dont want hrt full .. This was a gentle alternative for me estriol is the kinder estrogen ..
Theres also gynest estriol but i would talk to your doc about it .
I shall only use half the amount and occasionally ..

when did you last see a gyno .. And when did you las have a smear ?
I have just finished norfloxacin for my bladder Uti ..
all the discomfort has gone..
last weekend i noticed the usual pain coming ..
it was frequency in needing to wee mire than normal, my partner was home last weekend too and said.. Blimey you are at the loo alot..
i also felt pain when weeing and after finishing then discomfort again when bladder filling..
if you lay down and gently press the pubic bone ( just above ) and feel discomfort / pain you more likely have a UTI or if not a sensitive bladder..
which mimics cystitis...

I had constant urinary problems, had a cystoscopy and tests all fine. It stopped when I went on hrt. I know realise it was because the walls of the bladder and vagina get thinner during menopause. I always had that horrible pressure feeling and urinary tests always came back negative. I now use just gynest estriol cream and also actigel which helps prevent thrush and bv. I alternate these each day and havent had cystitus for 3 years now. I also drink a glass of cranberry each morning. I don't know why urologists and gynecologists seem so lacking in info and we have to help each other. Hope you feel better soon, let us know how you get on.

well said.. Thats exactly me in past ( but have had a uti just recently only due to my cystolyic vaginosis being untreated for 10 months and foind after a smear test)
yes post meno lack of estrogen does effect ..
and yes i too have Ovestin estriol ... For occasional use when i am all better and had a little while to settle the vaginal Ph back to normal..
along with premeno duo ovule ... From stress no more uk site..
thats a vaginal moisturiser / prevent thrush ovule
Gynest similar to Ovestin it is Estriol
Gynest weaker..
Glad you have found the perfect balance of treatment Deb
sounds promising 😊
