Last ditch effort here, as this has been some of the most frustrating 2 months of my life.
October 28th I was sent to the ER with a massive allergic reaction to peanuts, something I have never experienced in the past. They shot me with Epipen, gave me prednisone and let me go after a few hours.
That Sunday 30th I was hit with the biggest asthma attack I've ever had, since I was on Prednisone, I just kept with it and using my nebulizer, usually these things just go away but this one didnt. By Wednesday I was at the doctors office, where she just upped my Prednisone and sent me on my way. Not only I didnt get better, but I started having severe mucus build up and hurt severely when I coughed, I went to the ER, they did a Catscan looking for PE or Pneumonia, only to find none, and again with the same symptoms I went in sent me on my way. I went to another doctor, who after much pleading and since nothing was working put me on one dosage of Levoquin 750, that usually works, as I've had respiratory infections off and on that get so bad that only Levoquin seems to work. This time it didnt, it got better but the mucus kept up so did the pain when I coughed, burning sensation in my chest was unbearable. Back to the ER as I felt awful the y didnt do anything except give me breathing treatment and again send me away with the same symptoms I walked in with. Long story short, 2 months later I 've been to Pulmonologist and Allergist who both literally told me after dozens of blood tests that they dont know what it is. My primary wanted to put me out on Disability and refused to try another dosage of the Levoquin, as a last resort the Pulmonologist relented and gave me another course (2 months later) that seem to be working as I got 70% better in 3 days for the first time since October, but I cant seem to get 100% and Im afraid once the medicine runs out Ill start getting worse again. My fear is a big inffection that nothing works with. I have no fever, o2 always in the upper 90's, Xray clear, CT clear, Bloodwork normal outside a low IGG2 that the immunologist say its "not a problem", Sputum culture negative, Heart was checked several times, EKG and Blood tests all negative even a CT of the chest (heart included) Even the Peanut allergy test came negative and that is what I was sent to the ER with by Ambulance after having reaction.. Im at a loss, this is affecting my job and family life and the doctors really dont seem all to concern about it, they schedule pointless test after test with MONTHS of wait (Not kidding, Mid January with February return date) and NO PLAN on what to do meanwhile to help. When I pushed and asked at least for an idea of a diagnosis I was literally just told, I dont know what it is and it can be YEARS before we get a diagnosis.. Im at a wits end here with no idea what to do.. I feel as if there is a rock in the middle of my chest when I breathe out I wheeze terribly.. I'm losing my will to fight this, dont know what else to do... Any ideas ?
