Unsure if this is anal herpes?

Posted , 3 users are following.

I had been quite constipated recently and I've been going small but very often so I'm wiping a lot. On Sunday I felt this was getting sorer and sorer. I went yesterday to have the area swabbed, but I'm still really worried that it could be anal herpes. The first photo was before the swab and second is post, after I applied the anaesthetic cream the doctor gave me. Any advice is much appreciatedimageimage

it'd be better to get tested for sure but honestly it just looks like irritation.

      Many thanks for your reply!

I had only started seeing someone a few months ago and this has just appeared and kinda freaked me out, and I have him on edge too.

Have you had anal sex recently?

Yeah I have, it would have been last weekend the 20th of June. These symptoms appeared just this Sunday. Although the sex was protected.

It looks like you have some tearing from the skin stretching too much either from trying to push so hard from constipation or from anal sex. It is not herpes though.

Yeah I'm hoping it's just some irritation to the skin. The timing of it all just doesn't add up if it were to be herpes. It's probs gonna take a while to heal given the location of the affected area...

The GUM doctor said she sees on average 2-3 cases a week of genital herpes and she was fairly confident this wasn't another. Best to be tested just in case!
