Hi my knee gave way after 7 weeks post PKR and ever since it's been feeling like I've stretched a ligament in the right side of the back of my knee every time I take a step when I lift my leg up I get a click come from the area and pain and the pain is also now in the calf muscle too I'm just wondering if it's normal and if it isn't what can I do I don't see my surgeon now until February and I have physio on 27th I'm suppose to do my exercises but it's causing too much discomfort

Hi, You need to ring your consultants secretary, you should be seen before february, even if only to confirm everything is ok.

Trouble is I saw him just last week and when I explained that I'm having clicking coming from behind the knee but without pain he said it was fine I was thinking about trying to ice it but I don't think it will help now

    Hi

Did you do something differently that strained it ? If so it may need few days to calm down . I always iced my knee no matter what and still do when it flares up . I am 18 months PO PKR. Also I did have that pulled ligament feeling from the beginning for many weeks and it finally went away .

Hi Debbie no nothing particularly strenuous or different to be honest I was just waiting for the coffee machine to finish making my coffee so basically just standing there and the next thing I knew my knee just went weak (knee just went from under me) and since then I'm using both of my crutches no matter what I'm doing and I'm having this horrible pain and clicking feeling and sound coming from the right side of the back of the knee now I know I'm only 7 weeks post op but I've not had problems around the back of my knee at all until now
