Hi everyone. Wanted to share with you that having had my the on 7-11-16 today after weeks of strengthening exercises my physio has taken the crutches off me as my gait has improved so much . So for those who have the T gait please don't despair . Through hard work religiously doing exercise's it's possible to reduce the limp. I feel over the moon although I know that i need to keep up the exercises. Just wanted to share with those that understand !

Oh thankyou ! It's a very hard slog which I had not anticipated but I did it with a lot of support from a great physio. Thankyou so much for your kind words.

Hi, thank you for sharing your wonderful newssmile  I have to admit that I didn't know what a Trendenberg gait was until I just looked online.  It looks terribly painful.  I'm so glad that you continued the PT and have overcome this difficult hurdle.  I hope you continue to do wellsmile

I'm doing very well thanks.  I had my THR last July and so far have done very well with no complications.  I was only 49 when I had it done, so that might have something to do with me bouncing back at a faster rate.  I also made sure the I went to PT for the first couple of months.  That helped to strengthen the muscles around the hip and pelvis back up.  As you know, this is essential for a successful recovery.

    Wonderful news Herse!

A friend, who is an OT, advised me to be very slow, steady, and methodical in my recovery. Her major concern was my attempt to rush my healing and causing a THR Gait.

As others have said....slow and steady wins the race!
