Update Week 5 on Monday

As many of you have been on my helterskelter🎢(As near as I could find lol) of emotions😩🤗 the last few weeks re my knee misbehaving due to my new hip. I've been 🔫&😀&🙃
Well........ I saw my own Physio today who knows me well and he said I've done something to my Sinovitis membrane around the knee and tendons. The knee is very weak, & not in the best shape....hmmm obviously I should have built it up far far more over the last 2.5years since the full replacement! Instead I just kept using the other leg( new hip side) and now this is the result as I've had to use the knee leg more!!
So the lesson my friends IS the muscles of our operated limbs need to be really really worked on, and built up so that IF heaven forbid another surgery on the other side were needed the legs, bum etc were as strong as they could be!!!
However........... My Physio got me to go upstairs on both legs at the surgery and down again and it wasn't too bad!! I've got exercises for both hip and knee and when I'm out back on 2 crutches to offload the pressure & ice ice ice for the knee and any other twinges!!
Sooooooo maybe tomorrow I'll leave my couch( which has been very comfortable) & try to go back upstairs to a real BED &Shower and just do the dreaded stairs once a day!!
My Physio thought I was extremely agile re my hip
So what a funny old day!
Popped into the local shops for a little wander with my dearly beloved🙊🙈did a bit of retail therapy and came home knackered💤💤💤Had to have a little nap💤💤😌😌
And that my dears was my day. Xxxx👍👍😋💃💃

So pleased you'll beable to go upstairs to sleep in a real bed - and shower, I know just how good that feels. For me a shower is a 3 person effort, due to getting the TEDs on ond off.
And some retail therapy too - so tired, but happy eh?
I'll celebrate tomorrow with that bottle of champagne - wish you could join me and Rocketwoman in a glass.
Best wishes
Graham

I'm afraid my wonderful Rocketwoman has gone to pieces this morning following that phone call.
Let's hope Stanmore will accept me - apparently it is very hard to get accepted there.

From the beginning I have been wondering if the size
of your ceramic insert was not correct. Did you get your
xray from your surgeon yet? Tell your wife to keep faith
that there are not many 'baddies' ..

I am so sorry that you are having to deal with all this, particularly as you do not know where the revision is likely to be performed, yet. Is there any way that someone can apply pressure on Stanmore? This does sound like an out of the ordinary case, and they may be interested in taking you on, on that basis, if nothing else?
My sympathy and support to you both. I am sure that one way or another you will be taken care of, and you should be prioritised - in my view, of course!
You have been so supportive of us all despite this setback and deserve the best treatement available, and soon!
All the best, and keep positive,
Susie

It serves as a reminderto me, not only do we get 'down' days, so do our partners who worry and work for us.
I really do know how lucky I am to have my wife on my side.

wrongly positioned)? You seem to be managing all the
exercises well. Did you get your xray?
as no other hippie has posted this problem it must be
unusual.
happy Sunday, Cathie

Xrays confirmed the ceramic insert was out of place from day one, and still is by just a few millimetres.
It seems very unusual, but an internet search reveals some others going back to 2008. Some have even spontaneously reseated themselves.
Still not sure what we will do - my wife is pressing for me to go to the National Orthopaedic centre at Stanmore - I know she has my best interests at heart. GP is very sympathetic, and has never heard of anyone else with the same problem.

Is there a reason why they want to reoperate so soon?
I am sure you both are in mental turmoil. A specialist centre
could give you some statistics about spontaneous reseating,
I ache for you both, meanwhile you are strengthening your muscles
for whichever route you take.

How did it get spotted?
Would it be wise to wait to see if it reseats itself?
Would it be better to let someone else do it?
and more
