    Hi Nicole

Upping a dose does often bring on side effects again, not always though, and also depends how much you've upped it to.  Often you'll just get milder side effects.  Sometimes it's worth going up a little at a time until you've reached the desired doseage.

I've been taking 5 mg but am upping it to ten. I once took flu before and only took 10 mg and I was better within a week. I stopped after two months and was good for two years. I wasn't as severe as this. This time I have constant dark thoughts and haven't experienced it before. I'm so scared the flu isn't going to work because I've taken it before. I can't really change because I'm pregnant. I've been taking it for 7 weeks and since Thursday have been back to square one. I know the hormones play a hugh part. I feel so hopeless. It's the worse thing I've ever gone through. I just don't want the upping to make it worse because I'm not sure I could handle it. Also this time I've been taking a tab so I can cut it in half. I haven't felt the same benefit as before. When I went to get my pills they were capsules like before. I'm scared to take them because last time I tried to restart flu for anxiety not depression and I had a awful experience. Shaking, racing thoughts, clenched jaw and brain zaps. I guess I'm worried it could be something from the gel capsule that done it because on the tab this didn't happen but I felt so much better the first time I took them and was on capsules. Sorry for the rambling sad

Hey that's ok, ramble away :-)  I know how you feel and sometimes you just need to talk and get reassurance xx

I'd think upping your dose by just 5mg shouldn't give you too many problems, but how about trying that extra 5mg every other day to start with?  Don't forget though that throughout recovery on these meds you will be up and down with your mood and often feel like your back at the beginning.  It seems most people go through this, I did too.  It seems an expected part of getting better.

This illness was also the hardest thing I'd ever gone through too - the experience is indescribable to people who've never had it.

Just try taking the extra meds every other day or even every 2 days ....... see how you go with that?  The slower the better.

Thank you for replying. This disease is so tiring especially being pregnant on top of it. It kills me every time I have to take it because I worry about the baby. I already have severe anxiety because of a miscarriage at 5 1/2 months because the baby developed hydrops. Do you think I should take 5 mg one day and then 10 the next for a week then 10mg. I wonder if it matters that one is tablet and the other is capsule. I guess I'm just scared I had a bad reaction to something in the gel capsule. Any advise would be great. I wonder if it's not working as well as before because it's such a low dose and has to build up.
