Upping the dose

Hi everyone I have been on 5mg now for about 2weeks was on 2.5 for about 2-3 weeks prior. I was doing great then started my cycle 3 days ago and seems to be feeling more anxiety each day. Anyone else have this happen during that time of the month or is it just time to up my dose? My doc wanted me to stay at 5 for a few weeks but not sure I can if this keeps getting worse. Also I can't really eat during the day but come 10pm I'm eating like a pig. And I still don't really have any energy...

    Hello Becky,

I can't comment on cycles (being a guy an all..) The increased anxiety could be due to the dose increase of Fluoxetine though. I started on 20mg and my anxiety sky rocketed to levels never felt before! It did calm down fast though after a few days. I also couldn't eat much on the tabs without feeling sick, though in the evenings I could eat anything! Strange.

I stayed on 20mg but only lasted 11 days on it sadly. The side effects were to much for me.

It's not for everyone and I didn't want to try another type after it!.

I had vomiting, nausea, sweats, shakes, insomnia, fever, leg and neck pain, huge anxiety / panic attacks, Racing heart rate/ restlessness, confusion and blurred vision. The doctors advised me to stop cold. It took me about a month to get back to normal. It's a very harsh drug!.

It works well for some, but for me the side effects were worse than the initial problem. The only downside is not everyone gets the side effects, you don't know till you try which is the risk.
