I had that problem in the hospital, and fortuantely had my own antibiotic with me. .after checking with the surgeon that i could use it, it cleared it up quickly, but it was two days before i could see him, and during that time it was hell . . ten times in a night!   . . but I think it has something to do with them using a catheter during the operation . . although not always. . As i couldn't feel anything, not sure if they did or they didn't!

Really important you get this checked.  Waterworks infections can travel to knee.  I insisted on a catheter this time and my surgeon insisted on high dose antibiotic cover before and after my op.

    Please check it tomorrow.

Yes, not that common, but possible. . in fact according to my surgeon, more likely to get an knee infection from a urin infection than to have a problem from a tooth infection . . .

Could be - the sooner it's checked the easier it is to get rid of

It is possible that you have picked up an infection in hospital. This happened to me once, infection came while I was still in hospital.

Drink plenty of water and absolutely no caffeine.

    Hope this settles down

    Keep in touch

I had an infection a few weeks after my op. I rang my GP who gave me an emergency appointment that afternoon & was given antibiotics, it's worth getting it sorted as soon as you can.
