urolift

Hi all:  Thanks so much for everyone's input.  I had a Urolift procedure done on June 28.  It's now July 5.  I had my cath taken out on july 3 at the urologist's office at 8am but after a few hours was still in retention and had to have it put back in at 3pm.  I was nervous that this wasn't going to work out as most discussions here seemed to show progress in at least urinating somewhat in less than a week. I went back today at 8am to try again. Thank God Between 4-5pm I urinated 400ML and am now relieved that it would appear I'm on the mend.  Fully expecting a two steps up and one step back recovery, but Hoping not to have to have the cath put back in.

    Hi Ken

Good luck to you. I had 4 Urolift clips placed 14 months ago. Catheter for two days. Removed it at home per instructions. Fortunately I urinated immediately. Mostly blood at first but that gradually got less after a few days. Some urgency and frequency for first several weeks with a little leakage. Sore to sit for long periods as well for first couple of months. Only minor issue was a uti at about 3 months treated with antibiotics. Fine since. Things just slowly healed and got back to normal.

    All the best

Yes we all heal at different rates.  I also had 4 clips.  I ended up in the hospital and had a ridge scope last November .  Clips are still in the same place and still wide open.  Ken
