Just a**** warning**** you will not see any responses on there like mine on the Urolift sites. They only post the successful ones, which is how they can continue to do the procedure. After the surgery I went form super libido to ED now. I exhausted all other avenues of anything else that would have caused this and nothing, So I am pretty sure it was the Urolift procedure . Stick with the Flomax as the other drugs are 10 times more expensive. Also, although I do not wake up at night to urinate during the day it is less than 2 hours at any given time. Sometimes within 90 Minutes.

Stephen (71171),
I just saw this....did you post more details somewhere else in this forum? My Uro Doc gave me
brochures on this proceedure and he has no experience with much else other than TURP which I have
heard here that has major complications most of the time...... Thanx
John... Northern Calif, USA

Yes, my Dr. prior to the surgery assured me it would not effect my Libido. Brochures aside, you trust the person doing the surgery. When confronted he gave me samples of drugs to over come that but they have to be ordered out of the country to be affordable!

This Forums has posters writing good and bad reports on all procedures and Urolift tends to get mostly good ones, Search for posts from Kenneth1955 who is one who has had a good result some considerable time ago and is very knowledgeable on all procedures.
I live in the South of England and our local BBC TV station did a piece on Urolift yesterday as a local hospital has started doing it. All happy patients and on their way home in just over two hours.

" Urolift tends to get mostly good ones "
Not really. Urolift had many bad posts on this forum recently. However, this is the first regarding ED.

Initially reports were good but recently some failures are posting.
As I have often said I can see it initially working but the prostate must still grow despite being set aside.

Actually this is the second. There was another post reporting ED after Urolift few months back. Like the wise man Howard once said: "All procedures invoice risk." Especially having instruments going in where they don't belong.

I think you will find a lot, it is not something most men want to talk about. No one is going to post it on the sites that are trying to sell the procedure. To be honest loosing the Libido was at first liberating as all out, but I got married for the first time last September.

Sorry that you are having a problem. The Urolift does not touch anything that would cause that side effects.
How long have you been on Flomax. That can cause the problem that you are talking about. I would not take that pill again if they paid me.
Ken...Was just 4 years for me...No side effects

Kenneth, I was on it for over 10 years. I believe it was major cause of back pain and other side effects. That was the reason I did the **Urolift surgery. I still, even with the ED think I am better off without it. It was not working that well probably because I was on it for so long.
Had my surgery a year ago February.

Flomax causes ED and RE bad as I personally experienced it. As per my post, I only took the stupid pill for 3 weeks and I have had all bad side effects and not a good result. I am sorry to hear your bad result with URolift. hopefully its reversible.

Re Flomax : I have been taking it for about 2 months now with none of the stated side effects mentioned here. One issue I was having intermittently mainly during night hours was having the urge to pee, with
a mild dull pain upon starting, and some nights waiting for up to about 30 seconds to get flow started. Since starting Flomax (tamsulosin 0.4mg Cap), All of those conditions disappeared and have had none
of the ED or Retro issues. I am guessing medication works differently with each of us. I still have frequency to pee during the day, about every 1.5-2.5 hours. Most nights now only getting up once to pee, sometimes twice if I drink something too late before bed.

Re. "After the surgery I went form super libido to ED now", was that instantly after the procedure or a slow wind-down over the year?

Yes, I did enhance things over the past 1 year + with Libido Max, Korean Ginseng etc. But they only work temporarily at best.

Sorry still not clear; is that Yes it was instant after the procedure or Yes it was a wind down over the year?
What age are you? Around late 50's things start to wind down anyway Urolift or no Urolift.
Also have you tried Sildenafil / Viagra? That should help a lot.

Yes wind down.

I don't think Urolift can have anything to do with it then. More likely aging.
