Hi everyone. I know many of us roll our eyes at the word Mindfulness - not the simple solution people think it is, especially when your head's buzzing or you can't lift it off the pillow. However, I found a really useful free course online, run by an Australian university, through FutureLearn. Mindfulness and wellbeing. Worth googling and signing up for, with downloads even I could handle. Great for breathing and very well-explained. Hope it helps some of you.

I didn't expect replies Gary. It was information. Maybe one person will make a note of it and benefit. I certainly wouldn't have mentioned it if I hadn't found some of it very useful so no, it's not a bag a crap but yes, it does require a bit of effort. Not everything has a quick fix sadly, not everything can be fixed. But it's up to us if we're willing to try to help ourselves (usually I'm not, I'm still waiting fo the magic wand). I'm glad you've found the subliminal stuff helpful. I'd find that a bit scary tbh - I don't like things I can't control.

Hey Gary, I didn't see it as aggressive at all. You make a good point about us seeing things as crap - because most of us have tried so many suggestions without success. We think get two explanations - either we've failed or it's crap. When in fact there's a third - it's not for me. I'm a bit like that with CBT - crap (because it didn't work for me) but it's helped so many other people I blamed myself at first - till I realised the nature of my problems wasn't responsive to CBT, it was too deep-rooted. What works for one doesn't work for another, as you say, and I think the more suggestions we all have in our heads the better - one might work.
Sorry it's been a tough day and thanks for the (unnecessary) apology.
