I have a fibroid and I have this pain too now and again, right side of my bikini line, it's a dull achy pain,  this pain has been there for over 3 yrs, have had ultrasound but the doctor couldn't see anything apart from the fibroid which is 6cm. I had embolisation for this fibroid in 2005, it had shrunk a lot, since I've started perimenopause seems that it's grown a bit.

Hi kadija just took a really strong painkiller still stings a bit but pain gone almost. You said you have had it for 3 years is it since you had UFE? I'm also on my third period since I had this done 6 weeks ago. Been to the GP waste of time just ordered blood tests. Just not been good today hope it improves. You said that yours has grown a bit since perri menopause I would say that the hormone Ostergeon ( sorry if it's spelt wrong) is dominant during perri menopause and that means that Fibroids can grow. I have read this somewhere I think. But it may be worth reading online in case I'm wrong. Off to bed now I hope tomorrow is better x

Hi Patricia sorry you're still suffering, I'm wondering if the pain is due to a fibroid degenerating after the UFE? It doesn't seem to have improved your situation very much with the frequent periods too. My frustration is that most doctors, even gynaecologists seem to have little interest or knowledge of how fibroids function.

hi there - hope you are feeling better.  I suffer a lot of pain from my fibroids (i havent had them removed as yet) - the pain goes from a slight perid pain feel to stabbing pain - last night was the worst when the pain was on my right side.

I havent had a period in 7 months due to taking Zoladex and Esmrya.  My consultant is not interested in giving me a hysto as yet - i have to have 2 ops removing my fibroids - so hopefully this works (dreading the 2 ops though)

have you had any treatment etc scans?

    Hope you are ok

Thanks Briggsy well I am 2nd day of bleeding and I was talking to my sister today and she said that she always gets period pain in bikini line area. ( i always get period pain in my tummy only) sorry if that's TMI. So I'm thinking its period pain rather than UFE causing pain. Anyway I'm feeling better today hopefully my periods will stop being so often. Every 2 weeks they were every 3 weeks post op. Bleeding is lighter it's just more painful. I know what you mean with the pain it's terrible and I really feel for you. Hope you feel better soon

The pain seems to come and go depending of the time of month, sometimes it's like a pulling pain, so eti es it's like a dull achy pain, it's on my right side, I was thinking maybe it's my ovary? As I had a ovarian cyst remove 20 yrs ago, but then again this pain has been there on and off for 3 yrs? So if it was a cyst the ultrasound would have picked it up...my doctor did the scan 3 time and said my ovary is fine, no cyst... He says it's the fibroids giving me the pains, past few months it feels like it's shrinking again and I don't have that urge to pass urine frequently as I did before. 2 yrs ago that pain was so bad I had to go to A&e. Doctors gave me buscopan injections.
