UTI ?

Hi everyone another question for you so glad I found this site !! I'm still spotting 12 days after I had the lightest period ever and more recently I have been feeling like I need to wee a lot (I wee a lot anyway ) but I felt sore as well.wenr to nurse who did a dipstick urine test and she said there was a little blood in it !!! I'm freaking as googled and bladder cancer stands out !!! She have me antibiotics and sent sample away but my anxiety recently about my health is immense !!!! I'm in peri I think as periods all over place and now spotting.do any of you wee a lot without an infection as heard this is peri too ?can anyone help or give reassurance please.thanks Michelle

    Hi Michelle,

    I have had cystitis a few times since peri but I was weeing for England. Awful when I went shopping (takes only half an hour) I would be desperate for the loo. On some occasions having to use the loo before I could go home.

    Up 3 or 4 times in the night and also so thirsty all the time.

    I've been checked for diabetes several times and all is well.

    I started HRT 15 weeks ago it has made the loo trips much less, only once a night and went shopping all morning with my daughter the other day and was amazed I didn't need to go once.

      Is it common these infections in peri ? I've weed a lot for years it's a bloody nuisance and never get a good nights sleep as needing to go wakes me up !! What does hrt do I wonder do you know ? I have a fear of ovarian cancer as have cysts and an enlarged ovary and a sign is needing a wee a lot !!! So u can imagine my fear now !! Did you ever get blood in urine with cystitis ? Thankyou xx

      I didn't get blood in my urine with it.

      I have never had problems before and people used to joke that I had a bladder the size of a football pitch coz I never seemed to be needing the loo.

      I panicked because it came on with this terrific thirst (checked out several times for diabetes)

      So I'm up for the loo and need a drink at the same time a vicious circle, but much less since the HRT. I've even had a few days where I don't need the loo as soon as I get up, I was often like that in the past and only really went because I was going out or something.

      I still need to drink water or juice before I have my cup of tea though. I can't remember ever being thirsty like this except on very hot days when I was a child.
