Dee, I hope someone can suggest something, but I was told NOTHING goes up there for at least 6 weeks.  If it's below the vagina I used organic coconut oil but don't use too much or it will mark clothing.  Hope you feel better soon.

Durex Sensilube works for me.  Know it is marketed for sex but I have used on and off over the years when generally feeling bit dry and uncomfortable - like when changing tampons in the days when I did that

    Dear chris00923

I'm not a fan of Duex as it contains parabens as a preservative (even though it is classed as 'medical grade') As the earlier person wrote, try a natural oil such as coconut, or even better Vitamin E oil. Never use a synthetic oil such as baby oil as it is petroleum based and will upset the natural flora which can cause a pH imbalace leading to Bacterial Vaginosis (odour and itching). Make sure use it front and back (I'm not using the words incase it gets classed as 'spam'). Back especially as this area becomes dry too, if you have constipation you will have been over-wiping and this adds to the dryness factor and a sore perineum (the bit between front and back) is painful, even to walk, the chafing will be so uncomfortable for you.

When you are past your chek up and able to use an internal lubricant, you might like to try something like Premeno, with an applicator. It is in pessary form so you can insert it high inside and it lubricates gently the whole area.

USe black knickers, it will hide any staining from the oil!

    Good luck with your recovery!

    Hi Dee,

Like Chris said, I was told absolutely no cream in the vagina until at least 6 weeks . Even the prescription estrogen can do harm if that area is not ready for it.  Natural cream like the coconut cream mentioned on the OUTSIDE is OK but that's it.  I recovered very well and quickly despite being 71 by following these orders.  I too suffered from some itchiness but tried to distract myself by going for short to longer walks.  I don't know why but that seemed to help.  Maybe it was gravity by being upright for longer - who knows.

Good luck and let us know how you fare out.

    Nickie
