Verging on Fibro Diagnosis

Hi There,

Im looking for some advice on symptoms ive been having over the past 4 months or so. So in decemebr last year I had a rushing feeling through my legs, didnt thin kmuch of it and still not sure if its connected to whats happening now. Anyway this occured shortly after getting travel vaccines for a trip to the phillipines.

On returning from the philipines I had a feeling of breathing warm air and shivers throughout Jan. In mid feb I began getting a starneg heat sensation in my left foot that happened two to three times a minute lasting a few seconds, only a small patch of my foot. Come march time i began getting cramp like feelings in my hands, eye pains, foot pains, twiching predominentaly in my left foot and left leg. I have also had what can only be described as IBS since returning from my holiday. I have had sharp pains in fingers and toes and some nerev pains here and there. Also for approximately a week (round the time the cramps started) I had a feeling of numbness in my hands and feet for a few days, not complete numbness but rather more like when you sit on your hand for ages.

Anyway im now coming up to the 4th month of this and getting pretty bad temple head aches and everytime i drink beer I get a feeling of bruising on my neck the next day. could this mean my body is fighting something?

Have been to the GP and they have offered amytriptoline. Nuerologist has said its not neurological and infectious disease expert believes the timing is too delayed for it to be from the philipines. Whilst away i was taking antibiotics to aviod malaria so thinking maybe an internal yeast infection or something. I was also pretty stress out on returning so maybe that had something to do with it. Anyway if anyone has similar experiences or advice on what other tests should be done that would be great. My GP is now asking me if I have any ideas....not very reassuring to be honest.

Im 30 year old male, was in the best shape of my life before all this happened, but now have half the strength and energy than i used to, sad times.

    Hi,

mabe more tests need to be taken to rule out other issues. That is how FM is diagnosed generally. It's points on the body causing pain see webmd/FM DIAGNOdiagnosis.

if antibiotics cause a yeast infection that could also br tesed. U would also have very definately symptoms for yeast infection in stomach and skin as well as other areas. PLZ see symptoms defining yeast infection.

Stay with finding what is causing UR illness. Sometimes these thing takes time and sometimes months to find a correct diagnosis and prognosis.

    Best of luck.

thanks for the suggestions. I was taking malarone for the malaria. hope4cure, I have had numerous blood tests and a neuro exam but no actual scans or anything. Im very keen to avoid the Fibro diagnosis and actually get to the bottom of what is causing these problems. From the literature I understand that people with Fibro tend to have flare up, my symptoms although changing havent really been on and off. I am not sure about the yeast infection, its very hard to diagnose and I believe doctors dont tend to consider yeast as a cause for these types of problems. I have try elliminating sugar for a week or so but problems didnt change.

    Thanks again for your comments!!

I have developed tinnitus now so have a constant ringing in my ears...not much fun! Im keen to hear how you get on with the mercury studd since I had a lot of fillings about a year before all this started. Hey mate, cheers for the reply, i had a doctors appointment on friday and mentioned the mercury issue because i had 4 fillings about 6 months ago which were my 1st so thought id mention it, My doctor just changed the subject seems to be the way doctors are when you suggest things. I do get alot of throat and nasel issues especially lying down and occasional ringing in the ears but dry throat and a flu type feeling is probably worse for me. I got taken into hospital on fri night in the last two weeks i can hardly even get out of bed due to being in complete agony in the mornings and hurting all over. my boss txt me today asking if i want 2 weeks unpaid leave to rest and chase up my doctor but i honestly dont see my doctor can do to help me in two weeks. im going to start a new discussion asking advice on work and see the replys i get. Do you work and how are getting by day to day?

      Hi Hugh

Sorry about the delayed reply been pretty busy and feeling rubbish. Turns out I had two pretty harsh viruses ,dengue and chikungunya. Guessing these ate causing most of my issues...at least I hope it's these. The pains are slowly leaving but am currently twitching like crazy and keep getting a numb tounge and lip.Did u figure out what was up with you?
