For last two years I have been living and suffering thinking I am suffering from herpes, the reason being after a sexual experience in Vegas I started to feel burning sensation around thigh area and developed serious herpes like symptoms like fever tingling sensation around thighs and if I take lysine it will go away or if I take peanuts it comes back on.

Finally I got the courage and got my blood work done, can someone help me if this means I have herpes or not and if not why are my symptoms so close to herpes symptoms.

Results

Hsv IgM test value 0.49

Herpes 1&2

Thank you for any help

Those are negative results. A positive results is anything over 1.1 I think.

IgM is worthless, so you can disregard that result. IgG is the important one and you would appear to be negative, although usually the results are separated by type. Do you only have the one score for both types?

Thank you. Yes one score for both . I have my report screen shot not sure how to upload it here

I guess it's not a type-specific IgG test, which is unusual. But if it is negative, then presumably you have neither. Should you ever test again in future, try to do the type-specific IgG test (and don't bother with IgM). It's best not to mix the two up in the one test/result.
