I have been told I am in menopause because my last period was in nov 2013. I take primrose capsules also iron and b6.when I 1st started taking b6 about a year ago 3 tablets a day made symtoms bearable then I had to up them to 4 because I had a permanent headache and hot flushes were becoming stupid.that seemed to work for a few months until the headache etc come back so upped it to 5. My question is how many is it safe to take.they are shop brought ones so I am guessing not as strong as prescription ones.

I take 150mg B6 daily, also post meno.
You say how many tabs, but not the strength?
This may help

You don't say what strength and how much of each vitamin you are taking. You might want to be careful as I know for certain too much Vitamin B6 can cause nerve damage, so please check out how much of each you are taking and discuss with your doctor to be on the safe side.

Some people cannot absorb Vit B12 via tablets, they need injections. Vit D3 is also necessary - if you cannot absorb D3 via tablets, drops work best. Ask to be tested for these also.
If your headaches continue, ask for testing of all Pituitary Gland hormones. Drs never seem to think of the Pituitary Gland.

isnt the B6 strength on the bottle ?
If your having blood tests you should stop all vits anyway for a good two weeks or more before bloods, ( other than what doc prescribes and knows about)
as they can affect your true blood results..
if you havent make sure you tell the doctor what you have been taking before he takes blood, so they know what your taking, and whether relevant to the particular blood tests your having.
good luck
